AWARDS AND BURSARIES

The Streetsville Musicorp Inc. is proud to offer a range of awards 
and bursaries, which are available to qualifying members of our community.  
The SMC Awards program was implemented over twenty-three years ago.  
The recipients of these awards have been chosen by music educators 
and/or the SMC selection committee.  
The awards reward the recipients' accomplishments, and assist them to 
further develop their musical interests.

The Jim & Gayle Hammond Bursary
[Post-Secondary School Level, by application]
Eligibility:  High school students in their final year who are
currently participating in the school music program and 
who will be continuing immediately in post-secondary music
education or a career in music.

The Jon Clipperton Bursary
[Secondary School Level, by application]
Eligibility:  High school students who are currently enrolled in the
school music program at Streetsville Secondary School AND
-demonstrate a high level of musicianship
-maintain a good academic standing
-have a commitment to governance within the school
(student council or music council) or volunteer involvement 
outside school within their community

The John Hampton Technical Award
[Secondary School Level, by application]
Eligibility:  Students who show a keen interest in their school's
audio/visual activities and who are competent in the fundamentals
of operating the systems AND
-are a helpful, cheerful and thoughtful person
-maintain a good academic standing

The Janine Sharpe-Galbraith Bursary
[Secondary School Level, by application]
Eligibility:  Students who are currently participating in either a 
school program or private study, of vocal or instrumental music
(other than piano, which is a separate award).

The Doris Clipperton-Hall Bursary   
[Piano Education, by application]
Eligibility: Students who are currently participating in either a school
Piano program or private study Piano lessons.

The Alice Smith Bursary
[Members Education in the Arts, by application]
